Doctor of the Month: Dr. Judah O’Konkwo.
We are pleased to present Dr. Judah Okonkwo as our Doctor of the Month which is awarded to a physician that is dedicated to excellence in practice, leadership, research and education which he does very well and which we see as very impactful.
Dr. Okonkwo’s medical journey which began in 2015 when he was accepted into the elite University of Nigeria in Nsukka. In 2022 he graduated as second in his class which is a great achievement that is a result of his dedicated approach to academic and professional success.
During medical school, Dr. Okonkwo was drawn to research and data analysis which in turn led to multiple publications and also great experience in the research process. Also at the same time he took up several leadership roles in the Christian Medical and Dental Association of Nigeria (Students’ Arm) which included that of the National Academic Secretary at one point. These roles which he held were key in forming him as a student leader dedicated to faith, mentorship, and academic growth.
After Dr. Okonkwo finished up his academic requirements at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital he also took part in the NYSC program which he served in Ogun State. Presently he is at the stage of his career where he is a Internal Medicine Resident at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital.
When out of the hospital Dr. Okonko enjoys to read novels and also to explore put forth by new research which is a display of his curiosity and lifelong dedication to learning.
