Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager with a strong track record in identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the government sector. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in achieving and exceeding sales targets, building strategic relationships with government stakeholders, and managing the end-to-end business development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Identify and develop new business opportunities within local, state, and central government agencies. Research and track government tenders, RFPs, RFQs, and procurement opportunities. Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and growth targets. Build and maintain strong relationships with key government decision-makers and influencers. Lead the bid management process including proposal development, pricing strategy, and contract negotiations. Collaborate with internal teams (technical, finance, legal, operations) to deliver competitive and compliant proposals. Maintain a robust sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasting and reporting. Achieve and exceed assigned sales and revenue targets. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes within the government sector. Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking forums. Key Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration, or related field (MBA preferred). 5+ years of experience in business development or sales, with significant experience in the government sector. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and growth targets. Strong understanding of government procurement processes and tendering procedures. Experience managing large and complex bids. Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities. Ability to work independently and drive initiatives with minimal supervision. Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite. Salary N400,000 – N600,000 monthly.
