Job Summary

The Medical Officer will provide high-quality clinical care across multiple specialties, ensuring accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and compassionate patient management.
The role involves working closely with consultants, nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver comprehensive healthcare services in a fast-paced, multi-specialist hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient consultations, obtain medical histories, and perform physical examinations.
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to guide treatment decisions.
Prescribe medications, therapies, and lifestyle modifications in line with best medical practices.
Assist in surgical procedures and medical interventions as required.
Manage both acute and chronic illnesses across different specialties.
Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Provide detailed patient education on diagnosis, treatment plans, and preventive healthcare.
Coordinate referrals to specialist departments for advanced care when necessary.
Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date medical records in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Participate in ward rounds, case reviews, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Respond promptly to emergencies, providing life-saving interventions and stabilizing critically ill patients.
Ensure adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols at all times.
Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, interns, and house officers.
Stay updated with medical advancements and participate in continuing medical education programs.
Contribute to hospital quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
Full registration and valid practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council.
Minimum of 3 years of post-NYSC clinical experience, preferably in a multi-specialist or tertiary care hospital.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills across various medical specialties.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and in emergencies.
BLS certifications are an added advantage.
Working Conditions:

Rotational shift schedules including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
High patient volume requires efficient time and resource management.
Salary
N400,000 – N450,000 monthly.
