Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Climber to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment on towers, rooftops, and other elevated structures.
This role requires excellent climbing skills, a strong understanding of telecommunications systems, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
Installation and Maintenance:

Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment, including wireless antennas, satellite dishes, and cabling, on towers and other elevated structures.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety of equipment.
Install fiber optic cables and other structured cabling systems for telecommunications networks.
Work with ground teams to set up and test equipment.
Safety and Compliance:

Conduct safety checks and risk assessments before climbing and performing work at height.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection gear
Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
Troubleshooting and Repair:

Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with telecommunications equipment and systems.
Repair or replace faulty equipment and components as needed.
Document and report any issues encountered and solutions implemented.
Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with other team members, including ground technicians, engineers, and customer service representatives.
Provide clear and concise communication to team members regarding work progress and any issues encountered.
Participate in training and development programs to stay current with industry trends and technologies.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification in telecommunications, electrical, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:

2-3 years of experience working at heights, preferably in the telecommunications or construction industry.
Experience with the installation and maintenance of telecommunications equipment is highly desirable.
Experience with fiber cabling and splicing is highly desirable.
Skills:

Experience as a telecommunications rigger or related field.
Proficiency in climbing and working at heights, with certification in tower climbing.
Knowledge of rigging techniques, knots, and safety procedures specific to tower climbing.
Proficiency in fiber cabling and splicing
Understanding of telecommunications equipment and wireless antenna systems.
Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous tasks at heights.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to travel and work in various outdoor environments and weather conditions.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications:

Certification in tower climbing and rescue (such as ComTrain or equivalent) is required.
Additional certifications in telecommunications technology or safety are a plus.
Additional Requirements:

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to work in various environments, including outdoor locations and confined spaces.
Physical ability to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders and towers, and perform other physically demanding tasks
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Ability to travel to various job sites as required.
Salary
N200,000 – N275,000 per month.
