Dr. Osia Seth Ogagaoghene is a medical doctor whose journey has been shaped by determination, resilience, and a passion for serving humanity through medicine.
His dream of becoming a doctor led him beyond the borders of his home country, Nigeria, to Kursk State Medical University in Russia. Studying medicine abroad was both challenging and rewarding, requiring him to adapt to a new culture, climate, and educational system while remaining committed to his goals. Those years taught him discipline, perseverance, and the importance of lifelong learning.
In 2022, Dr. Osia graduated from Kursk State Medical University with a medical degree, marking the successful completion of years of hard work and dedication. Earning his degree was both a personal achievement and a testament to the sacrifices and support of his family, friends, and mentors who believed in his potential.
Following graduation, he returned to Nigeria with a renewed sense of purpose, determined to contribute to the national healthcare system by providing compassionate, evidence-based care. In 2022, he was inducted into the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), marking the official beginning of his professional medical career in the country. He subsequently commenced his one-year housemanship, which he successfully completed between 2022 and 2023. During this period, he rotated through core clinical specialties, gaining invaluable experience in patient management, teamwork, and clinical decision-making.
From 2024 to 2025, Dr. Osia participated in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program, serving in a military clinic where he contributed to the health and well-being of the nation’s armed services personnel and their families. This experience further developed his adaptability, leadership, and discipline.
Practicing medicine in Nigeria has enabled him to apply the knowledge and skills acquired abroad while addressing the unique healthcare challenges faced by his local community. As a physician, Dr. Osia strives to treat every patient with empathy, respect, and professionalism. He believes that medicine extends beyond diagnosing and treating diseases—it is about listening, comforting, educating, and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Looking ahead, he remains committed to continuous professional development and excellence in medical practice. He aspires to expand his knowledge through further training and specialization while contributing to the advancement of healthcare in Nigeria.
